Ceramics, sculpture, life studies, printmaking, photography & mosaic
I trained under Emmanuel Cooper and Neal French at Middlesex University and then studied at University of London Institute of Education.
My current work reflects a joyful rediscovery and emphasis on ceramics after years practising mostly 2D art forms.
I am inspired to work in a variety of media to express my fascination with the imagery of the sea, ethnic artefacts and mythology as well as Middle Eastern traditions of colour, form and decoration.
My work reflects a fusion of my skills, interests and abilities and may take the form of purely decorative, functional or sculptural pieces for homes and gardens. I am interested in producing and creatively positioning work that will weather gracefully over the years and provide a complimentary foil to the seasonal changes of the outdoor setting.
I gladly accept commissions in ceramics, mosaic or traditional art media and would be pleased to develop new ideas to client specification. Examples include: garden sculptures, water features, mosaics using pottery/personal items of significance as well as portraits/figure studies/portrayals of mythology & seaside (any of the latter in ceramic or art media).
Tuition is offered from my studio both to individuals and small groups. I am also available for workshops and community ventures. I have many years experience of working with children, young people and adults as well as individuals with special needs, having initiated and participated in numerous inclusive community projects.
